Mobile charging cable or fixed charging station: which is better?

Mobiele thuislader en vaste laadpaal vergelijken voor elektrische auto

Marketing Regisseur |

Electric driving requires the right charging solution at home or on the go. Many EV drivers hesitate between a fixed charging station and a portable charging cable. Both have clear advantages, but which suits your situation best?

Update: We have now made a more extensive and up-to-date comparison. Read our Complete guide to mobile home chargers versus fixed charging stations for load capacity, installation, safety, smart features, and selection advice.

What is a fixed charging station?

A fixed charging station is a permanent charging solution that is mounted on a wall or pole and connected to the electrical installation. Depending on the connection, car, and charging station, various charging capacities are possible.

What is a portable home charger?

You can take a mobile home charger with you and connect it to a suitable power outlet, such as Schuko or CEE, depending on the model. This makes the solution flexible for home, holidays, or a second location.

Which solution suits you?

For daily charging on your own driveway, a fixed charging station is often convenient, especially if you want features such as load balancing or a permanent installation. A mobile home charger is interesting when flexibility is important or when you want to be able to charge at multiple locations.
