Do you drive an electric car or plug-in hybrid with a Type 1 charging connection? The Bar2Charge Mode 2 Mobile Home Charger delivers up to 3.7 kW and is specially designed for vehicles with Type 1. Connect the charger directly to a properly grounded 230V Schuko socket, without a fixed charging station.

The fixed 7-metre Type 1 charging cable provides extra reach when the socket is farther from the charging port. This version works without an app and is configured directly on the charging unit.

Which cars is Type 1 intended for?

Type 1 is mainly found on older electric cars, plug-in hybrids and imported models. Examples include, depending on the model year and version, older Nissan Leaf models, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Peugeot iOn, Citroën C-Zero and older Ford Focus Electric models.

Safe charging via a socket

The charger has several integrated safety features, including residual-current protection, short-circuit protection, overcurrent protection, overload protection, overheat protection, overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection and grounding monitoring.

Connect the mobile home charger directly to a properly grounded socket. When charging at 16A for extended periods, check that the socket and electrical installation are suitable for this continuous load. Do not use a regular power strip or a coiled extension cable.
